Photographing Another Photographers Wedding

When Alicia and Lewis got in touch I was absolutely over the moon, not only to photograph such a wonderful couples wedding but a fellow wedding photographer! I met Alicia when she photographed my close family members wedding in 2021 and from that moment onwards we followed each other work and often chatted. I felt honoured to have been asked by another professional to photograph such a special day! And let me tell you, it was nothing short of AMAZING!!

Penny and Dave's March wedding at Washingborough Hall Hotel in Lincolnshire was bathed in beautiful hazy sunlight, casting a dreamy glow over their intimate celebration. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, with their beautiful daughters by their side, they exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony at a local church. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments captured in the soft, golden light of a perfect spring day.

Photographing a fellow photographer's wedding is both an honour and a unique challenge. It's a testament to their trust in your skills and an opportunity to showcase your craft to someone who deeply understands what goes into wedding photography.

Working alongside Alicia and her perfectly curated team of suppliers was so brilliant and such an amazing experience.

Key things I took away from the experience:

Mutual Understanding:

Photographing another photographer's wedding often comes with a mutual understanding of the craft. There's a shared language and appreciation for the nuances of composition, lighting, and storytelling. This mutual respect lays a solid foundation for collaboration and creativity.

2. Collaboration and Trust:

Collaboration is key when photographing another photographer's wedding. From discussing creative concepts to scouting locations, there's a level of trust and openness that fosters a collaborative approach. This trust allows for experimentation and the freedom to explore new ideas, which creates EPIC photos!

3. Appreciation and Understanding

Not only do both photographer and bride have a mutual love for the world of wedding photography but both have a deep understanding of how intense and tiring a wedding day can be for a photographer. Alicia was so  understanding of this and had so many element in place to make sure every supplier had an incredibly smooth running day.

Other amazing suppliers I worked with..

Alicia's wedding was full of the most incredible group of suppliers, carefully curated from her years in the wedding industry and lets just say, it was one cracking team!!!

This legend - Oliver Mitchell Videography. The most lovely and chill presence to have filming your wedding day. Not only was he editing during his lunch break so Alicia had something to give family members who weren't able to be present during the day but he was busting some serious moves on the dance-floor!!

The wonderful Meg Stainer, from Meg Stainer Celebrant.

She is the absolute best of the best, with the most beautiful hand crafted wedding ceremonies and literally such a wonderful energy!

The incredible Andy Taylor Magic

The wonderfully talented Chloe Boulton.

Let's not forget this bunch of absolute legends. Alicias nearest and dearest bridesmaids and also happen to be AMAZING photographers!!
